TravelWarnings

Warning : Travellers are advised against all but essential travel to Haiti, because of the threat to personal security. There are incidences of violence and kidnappings for ransom, with kidnappings taking place mainly in Port-au-Prince. There were sporadic outbreaks of violence following the first round of elections on 7 February 2006. It is possible that the uncertain security situation could prevail for some time as the newly elected government settles into power.

The hurricane season in Haiti normally runs from June to November.

The threat from external terrorism is low.
