There are hotels to suit everyone's tastes and budgets in Buenos Aires, from the comfortably basic to the luxuriously trendy. New hotels have sprung up on the edge of the old city centre and regeneration projects have given Buenos Aires some notable design hotels. Most hotels are priced in US dollars but discounts can sometimes be gained by paying in cash in Argentine pesos. Price indicators are per room unless otherwise indicated.

Hilton Buenos Aires
This hotel was one of the key regeneration projects in Puerto Madero. It's just minutes away from the city's financial and business centre, yet the Hilton is right next to the docks and the laid-back bars and restaurants of this modern district. Situated close to the city's historic, shopping and commercial districts, the nH Jousten makes a stylish and comfortable base for the business traveller. Luxury

Alvear Palace Hotel
The Alvear is in the upper league of world-class hotels. This elegant establishment has been a favourite with royals and diplomats since it opened in 1932. Conceived during the Belle Epoque, the hotel is a symbol of that era and some rooms contain reproductions of renowned pieces of French decorative art. The hotel has every comfort you could want and is a short walk from the best restaurants, boutiques and museums of Recoleta.

Faena Hotel + Universe
Buenos Aires' first design hotel has been crafted out of a former grain warehouse situated amid the docks of Puerto Madero. Art Hotel
The recently opened Art Hotel contains 36 tastefully decorated rooms, all containing works of art by Argentine artists.
